FOR NATURE LOVERS ONLY! Kayak through the most protected, least visited and most beautiful area of Costa Maya, the Xcalak National Park! On this tour a certified park guide will lead you through a maze of canals in the mangroves connecting a series of lagoons that eventually lead to the sea. The Xcalak National Park is an important nesting ground for a large variety of birds and marine life. Here you will see and learn firsthand why this natural habitat is such an important part of the entire ecosystem, including the health of the second largest coral reef system in the world, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.
After the kayak portion of this tour you will get to enjoy a break and a snack at the private Rio Huach Adventure Kayak and Beach Club. Here you can also climb the spiral staircase to the top of the palapa style lookout tower and take in the breathtaking view of the brilliant turquoise ocean breaking on the reef to the West and, to the East, a bird's-eye view of the lagoon system you just paddled through.
This tour currently requires 4 people minimum. Please contact us if you would like to join a waiting list to hook up with others.
This is a great place for a private group of 10 or more to enjoy the day swimming, kayaking, riding bicycles and snorkeling. Contact us for a custom quote.
Part of the proceeds for this tour go to the park to help the preservation of the area. If you like nature and adventure, this is a unique, must-do-in-Costa-Maya experience!
